Lore's Father is explored as a cruel character in Lore's life through the use of glitching text and Baron's text "It's okay, maybe he's in a good mood today?" in Chapter 1; however, he is later provided a character arc in Chapter 2 where he protects Lore from The Boss (the Darksider version of Lore's Mother) and is revealed to be a victim of spousal abuse.

Personality[]

Lore's Father is explored as a cruel character in Lore's life through the use of glitching kind-to-cruel text and Baron's text prior to the player meeting him for the first time "It's okay, maybe he's in a good mood today?" in Chapter 1. However, he is later provided with a character arc in Chapter 2 where he protects Lore from The Boss and is revealed to be a victim of spousal abuse and in-fact protecting Lore in a flashback played before The Boss battle.

This is a complete 180° from what is shown in Chapter 1 where players are initially led to believe both his parents are abusers through the shifting kind-to-cruel text "Hey kiddo, the kitchen trash is overflowing. Go take it out would you?" to "Hey moron, the kitchen trash is overflowing. Go take it out."

As of the current story available, it is uncertain whether this initial introduction to Lore's dad was an accurate representation of his character or a Darksider corruption of Lore's perspective, changing reality. It is also probable that this Darksider perspective of Lore's is rooted in his own personal resentments towards his father as a result of living with his alcoholic mother and feeling betrayed and unsafe. Alternatively, it is also probable that Lore's father is in a power chain of abuse where his wife will degrade him and in turn he will degrade his son due to not being able to stand up to her. In this scenario, Lore's dad is both an abuser and abuser by proxy for his wife, framing the events of The Tower to be his realisation that he should have stood up to The Boss sooner instead of engaging in the power chain of abuse against Lore. As a result, it can be considered his Character arc.

Appearance[]

Lore's father wears square-shaped glasses and a button-up shirt. He also appears to have a full beard.

While in the tower Lore's father's appearance changes. His gray shirt becomes red with a white tie and his lower half is visible showing black pants with a gray belt. In addition, his glasses lenses change to red and black with a white diagonal stripe dividing them.
